May Favorites! Chanel, Burberry, Cle de Peau, Le Metier de Beaute, and Armani

In May I rediscovered some items in my stash, and fell in love with some new purchases! I have a lot to say about each product, so I'll just get on with it!

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua: It really pisses me off that Chanel hasn't widened the color range for this foundation to include darker skin tones, because this foundation is bloody amazing! I have this in B50, which is the darkest of the neutral shades, and perfect for my skin color at the moment.  Once I have a tan, however, this will probably be too light.  We had some insanely hot and humid weather in NYC this month, and this was the perfect foundation for those days.  It is water based, and incredibly light.  It truly feels like you have nothing on, and blends into the skin seamlessly. I don't like this foundation as much when my skin is drier as I think it tends to cling to dry patches and accentuate them, but I think it is perfect for normal to oily skin.

Burberry Sheer Summer Glow: I don't know if you can tell from the picture above, but there is a serious dip in this compact.  I use the 2 bronze shades every single day to contour my cheekbones, and the lighter shades to highlight.  I have been using my MAC 109 brush to apply this because it fits into the squares perfectly. I also have been mixing all the shades together and using this as a setting powder to add a summer glow to my complexion! This is an absolutely gorgeous powder!

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Beige: I have been loving this peachy bronze shade which I have been using as a blush and highlight all in one. It is easy and fool proof for a quick summer look!

Chanel Eyeshadow Duo in Sable Emouvant: This is the perfect combination of shades for a smokey night time look that is not over the top! I use the lighter shade all over the lid and as a  highlight, and then apply the darker shade in the outer corner and underneath.  The pigmentation is beautiful, and the shadows blend so well! Plus you can build the shades easily for a more intense look.  I think I could just have this eyeshadow duo with me for a week and be ok!

Cle de Peau Concealer in Honey: I have a love-hate relationship with this concealer. When I first bought it, I loved it, and then noticed how dry and cakey it could look and hated it.  I'm not sure what made me pull this out of my makeup stash last month, but I think it had something to do with the $70 price tag! The best way to use this concealer is on top of a really moisturizing eye cream (I have been using Le Metier de Beaute).  I then use my finger to warm up the product in the bullet, and then pat it in to my under eye.  I use this on top of my Giorgio Armani Master Corrector in Shade 2, and the combination is perfect.  My dark circles are completely gone (well, as gone as they can be), but the combination is really perfect. I don't set with any powder as I find that powder makes the concealer too dry and cakey. The lasting power is still great on its own because the formula has a dry finish. Plus, the product is so pigmented that you only need a very small amount, which means no creasing because there just isn't enough product there to crease up.  I don't think this concealer would be good for those with dry skin under the eye as when I used this in the winter months it just did not work for me.

Le Metier de Beaute Lip Creme in Two Lips: This is the perfect peachy pink color! I love the lip creme formula, but this one is definitely a different formula (I confirmed this with Dustin and he said it was indeed different). This lip creme is slightly thicker in texture, but still glides on the lips easily, and I think lasts longer than other lip cremes.  The scent is also different, but I miss the old lip creme scent!

Giorgio Armani Gloss d'Armani in 501: This is the most perfect pale pink gloss with a warm undertone which makes it easy to wear this time of year.  It is the perfect topper for my Tom Ford Blush Nude lipstick, which I am still obsessed with, but also beautiful on its own! Plus the lasting power of the Armani glosses is the best!

On another note, June is an extremely busy month for me since I have boards to take later in the month! I'm afraid that means I will be studying a lot so my posting on Product Doctor might be a little low.  I'm hoping to be back in full force in July!
